Project Deliverable 02: Shall We Play a Game?

You have been hard at work throughout the semester, studying the history of computing through the lens of computer hacking and designing your own game. Now it is time to enjoy the fruits of your hard work. It is time to enjoy the game you created!

For the final project deliverable (#2), you will prepare a summary document that includes:

  • Title of the game
  • Team members (indicate one person to be the main point of contact) 
  • Description of the game (2 paragraphs)
  • Instructions of the game (3-4 paragraphs or more, if needed)
  • URL where the cards are located
  • Suggested date / times that your team can meet to test the game during Finals Week (May 5th - 8th)

We will read your document and schedule a meeting with your main point of contact for us to play the game. Your team will be assigned randomly to Prof. Murillo, Prof. Walter or Rex (TA).

Your final grade will be assigned based on the following rubric:

0. Quality of the project summary document (120 points)

1. Game characteristics:

  1. Design: does it express the themes and concepts we studied in class? (120 points) 
  2. Instructions: are they clear? (120 points) 
  3. Cards: are they representative of the history of hacking? does it include key examples? (120 points) 
  4. Originality: is it innovative in terms game play? (120 points) 

TOTAL: 600 points

The final deliverable is due on May 5, 2026 by 5pm, but please let us know about scheduling the game with the course staff before this deadline if possible.
